How old do I have to be to get a library card?
Kids under 18 will need a parent or guardian’s permission to get a library card. (Your parent or guardian will have to be present and sign his/her name to give you permission.) Kids must also be able to print their first and last name. Anyone over 18 can get a library card with proper photo identification such as a drivers license.
Does a library card cost anything?
Your first library card is free! : )
I lost my library card, can I get another one?
To replace a lost or stolen library card, there is a small fee. The cost is $2.00 for each replacement card. If you lose or have your card stolen, please report it immediately. (302) 571-7400.
Can I use the Internet?
To use the Internet, you will need your library card and a pin number. If your parent or guardian decides that you are not ready to use the Internet alone, the library will not give you a pin number.
* If a parent does not want his/her child to have access to the Internet, please call (302) 571-7400.
The Internet can be a fun place to find information, but you should always talk to a parent or guardian first about safe Internet surfing. For more information about Internet safety, please read the American Library Association’s Online Resources for Parents & Children.
