PAWS for People

Posted on 3rd July 2013 in Childrens Page, What's Happening

pawsforpeople2A program that allows children to read aloud to a therapy dog (or cat, or bunny!) in order to improve reading and communication skills.  Children read individually to trained therapy pets (and their handlers) in the library where they can feel comfortable and confident – and have fun! After all, a dog will not correct them or make them feel awkward if they stumble.

Join us at the library for a one on one read aloud to one of the furry therapy friends from PAWS for People.

The first Saturday of the Month
Feb. 1st to May 3rd

Registration is required for 15 minute reading sessions
Please call the children’s department at 302-571-7412 for sign-up
All are welcome – K and up suggested
